I generally use shelf life boilies down to just be easy and hassle free but have just swapped over to Mainlines freezer range, do you need to air dry these and rehydrate or can I just use them from the bag, I generally only do 24-48 hour sessions?

Take out of freezer and go fishing is as simple as it gets.
I used to grab a bag as I left the house to get into the car.
There are other things you can do, but the way above works.

Take out night before and leave somewhere on a tea towel ( the sealed bag ) flip back over after about 5 hours so the moisture re distributes within the baits.
Shoving them straight in a air dry bag is a no no as osmosis cannot occur and it doesn't replace the moisture drawn out, baits split easy in a throwing stick and on baiting needles......although mainline does have a lot of gluten and binders in so will be minimally effected. Sound advice for superior baits though.

I've never been overly fussy with bait prep. I take bait straight out the freezer and into a bucket, ideally the night before so it has a chance to defrost, I give the bucket a shake but that's about it.
Air drying can be worth doing if the bait is soft and you want to stick it out. Otherwise it's not needed IMO.

Freezer baits in a bucket, little bit of hot water over the top with additives the night before

Straight out the freezer leave to thaw then into the drink. No need to do anything else. Worry about
Finding the fish etc
