Having a go at laying Indian stone and I've got 4 corners meeting. Not a clue how I've managed to do this as I was following the 4 piece pattern.
It doesn't look right and when googling states that 4 corners should not be met as that isn't the pattern.
Any professionals on here please as I'm tearing out what bit of hair I've left.

I'm not an expert but I've laid Indian sandstone, only once though. 50 square metres
I know what you mean you get a + and it doesn't look right.
Hard to say how you would get rid of it when we can't see it though.

I would try and get above it and have a look
It will probably be obvious if you have made a mistake

Could I have fcuked up ‘looks neater in my opinion' by using 20mm mortar joints.
Surely the pattern would end up the same had I followed it correctly despite using 20mm joints?.

Just make sure you've done a full bed on mortar below the flags and not just spots... the spots WILL show through and looks like the flags have large spots.... See link below for an example

I got my garden done a few years ago just over 120m2 in 3 levels, luckily my childhood friend is a ground worker and installed it on mates rates..... saying that i must have had bought god knows how many cases of Stella to keep him well hydrated....
I had to labour on my mate making the mortar mixes and he was laying it faster than i was making it, when I said just do spots... he refused and pointed out the above to me....glad i got someone who new what they were doing......
This also helps when jointing as well, as you wont need as much, i removed all the mortar jointing last year and replaced with black sika fast fix stuff....bloody good stuff that but expensive....

Totally agree on the full bed of mortar.
To be honest I was talking about what those contractors who were doing my daughters yard as they are laying down Indian stone.
These contractors x 4 of them were laying down the stone and I noticed four corners meeting, they hadn't recognised the error they had made to the pattern they were following. After I had brought this to the attention of the bloke that was laying the stone I then noticed another section further on where another four corners had met. He became defensive as he told me to stop interfering and let them get on with their work. Needless to say I then informed the contract administrator.
The next day the stones were taken out and replaced with the appropriate stones to get back on pattern.
This is where it gets further interesting,
They did not use a mixer to mix cement and sand with. Instead they mixed it together using the digger bucket and the mix resembled a crumble that you'd put on an apple pie. Not to mention they were being walked on....
They didn't use the bonding agent correctly that I'd supplied as they put it on neat and not mixed it into a slurry and to top it all off it was left uncovered left exposed to the ground frost that followed.
I had no confidence at all that they had stuck at all and if they had stuck ‘for now' then it wouldn't be for long before they have moved.
Anyway, I've seen the laid stone and can confirm that they just lift off like I'm lifting them off a stacked pile.
Edit - Regards jointing I'll be using the VDW 850 PLUS as I've put it down on mine and is amazing stuff.
