Hello all,

Wondering if anyone has their Insurgents paired with something of similar size to the Affinity 7000, I'm using the Okuma Inc 6000 which are fine, but I miss using the affinities, would they be too big on 10ft Insurgents? As they're fairly small on 12ft rods...

Id say the affinities are perfectly at home on 12ft rods, but not used anything bigger than them. I have tried mine on my xtractors and honestly they feel totally unbalanced and id reckon they triple the weight of the setup.

I use the Penn's on my 12ft rods and think they are perfect. Equally I am now using the Okuma Inc on my 10ft rods and think they balance perfectly. It's all about how you feel, but personally I would not be comfortable in using a reel as large as the Penn 7000 on a 10ft set up and equally feel that the 7000 are perfectly suited to the 12 ft rods as allow me to cast as far as I ever need to and are a joy to play fish on

I've done it, and it was a great decision, balanced lovely tbh, lots better than to smaller okumas!
