For all those that ask about heating the bivvy and yiu get all tose saying gas heaters will kill you or, get a good sleeping bag, has anyone thoyught of Diesel heaters? 5KW chinese heater, around £120, sites outside the bivvy and pumps the warm air into the buivvy?

I wouldn't that would cost a fortune the way diesel prices are lol
Avid now do a heated sleeping bag just but one of those

truly dont under stand this heater thing I mean FFS !!!
we dont hardly ever get a cold winter the last few years ?
when was the last time you went fishing and the lake froze over in the night ?
or you went to make a cuppa in the morning and your water container was a solid block of ice ?
this was common back in the day and we never had half the technical decent clothing and sleeping bags that are available today ?
just dont get it ? snow flakes

The one and only time I decided to do a winter night about 3 years ago it dropped to minus 8 and froze a 5 litre water bottle solid
I was toasty in the bag though.

Good question. I have a camper and have been investigating diesel heaters. I believe they are safe and very efficient in terms of fuel. It's the same heaters used in lorry cabs. Would be interesting if it could be adapted for fishing/portability

only prob with heating a bivvy is that 2 mins after turning the heat off your bivvy will be cold again. lets face it 1 or 2 sheets of nylon will not insulate. how about a insulated waterproof quilt that sits between bivvy and winter skin, should imagine that would help keep the temp higher without the need for a heater and a hell of a lot safer

Creates loads of condensation. A friend told me years ago to put blankets between the two skins of my bivvy on a really cold night. It literally rained inside.

were at the point in carp fishing where if the bank doesn't have underground heating,the lake isn't heat to a steady 15 degrees, showers,cafe,lake maps,swim maps then people arnt interested

These need a fairly hefty battery and draw power constantly while running, not too bad if you can park next to your swim.

If one is determined to heat your Bivvy, the simplest option rather than fanny about with fancy gizmo's is to buy a small petrol generator and a 3 bar 3000kw electric fire, oil filled radiator or fan heater and sit in your Bermuda shorts all day and night.
And might as well take a microwave, bedside lamp with 100 watt bulb and 42" TV as well and even throw an electric blanket in too. Also approach the local council and see if they have any surplus lamp posts and erect that in your swim too to light it up on a night.
And no need to take a cooker, just lay the electric fire on its back and stick your pan on top like we used to do at work and also carry a toasting fork.
