I have a 6ft fox handle and this style spoon
And its awful. I want to put boilie out over a spread at 30 to 40 yards. This on baits a line from the margin right out to the spot. You can sort of side swipe it, but still uselss.
Does anyone use a different type of spoon?

Looks very similar to what I have. Have you used one?
The sloped end means the boilies start rolling out when you are mid way through winding it up. The Nash ones looks like it will do the same, or is the square shape different?

Yes I have used one,it took a while get the knack of it.I was trying to swipe but my mate showed me to stop it mid swing like using a throwing stick.I think Gardner do one too,that might be worth a look

At that range just put them out.

I bought that fox spoon used it once . It's been in the shed since. I use a particle catapult now to spread boiled at short medium range 👍

I think the fox one is more for just flicking boilies out in the margins/around snags.

Well that's the alternative. But it's 10x faster with the spoon, maybe more. For baiting up it's brilliant, if they actually went where you wanted.
10kg of boilie with a catapult gets boring pretty quick.

Yeah I've tried that, stopping it dead is the best method. But can still see loads fire up in the air before you get to that point. If the stupid end wasn't such a shallow ramp.

I've got a Gardner handle with a Nash spoon. I think the shape of the Nash spoon is better. Good for beating the gulls, but not a tool for tight baiting. Good for a boilie only approach at fairly short range.

You could put a lip on it or warm it up and reshape it to suit how you want it
