Thinking about it more now
I wouldn't want to use live ones unless caught trapped etc from the water I was fishing
Never know what you may introduce disease wise..

So, these frozen water snails... They come from where, exactly? How do you know they are not, for example (or not), parts of the solent that are rife with oil....

Total waste of time adding to a mix.

Agree.
I've messed around with snails extensively (big fan of naturals). Snails have never done it for me. The freeze dried ones are particularly rubbish imo. You used to be able to get them in bulk from a place called Natures Grub. Rubbery even when rehydrated. Never caught on them.
If you want to add a more natural element then look no further than the more traditional maggot/caster/worm, they just cannot imo be beaten.
