They're ok. Open well. Not great for big distances.

I dont understand how they are not great for distance.I thought the original designer of these actually designed them for long range casting

I find they're too cumbersome and don't fly quite so well as say a medium spomb. They feel slightly too heavy @ more than 100 yards (to me anyway).

I think these were originally spider spombs from Poland and the Nash dot spod was from a guy in Romania who could chuck it bloody miles.I have not tried the wolf version yet,still use my original midi spomb or dot spod

Have been using the wolf spider spomb (future fishing) for last few years (still on first one I bought)...

I much prefer it over the large spomb, much more robust, opens all the time, and find it casts well...I fish a large pit and predominately bait up at 100 to 125 yds with it...no issues at that range...

actually just used one for the 1st time this weekend and have to say i was very impressed. casts a dream and qccueately and opened everytime! so easy to load aswell. looks as tho it will replace my spomb on 1st impressions.

Been using the original spider spod for years now. Don't do any long range fishing so can't answer on that one but mid range stuff it's very good. Casts well and opens every time. It is however pants for short range work (under arm flicks or under 5 wraps when you want an accurate spot) as it doesn't hit the water hard enough to break the magnet connection. It could if you made an absolute racket but not ideal that. I switch back to a medium or midi spomb for close range stuff.

Would recommend if they are of the same standard of manufacture the original spider spod was.

Best I've done with the X spod is 42 wraps ! Personally I find they casts better than the spomb
