With braided mainline now becoming more popular I was wondering if most of today's guides were robust enough to cope with braid . Many years ago i had issues with braid eventually damaging the ceramics , thanks .

High Quality Guides resist braid but my bite alarms don't .

A mate grooved all 3 of his kigan tip rings on his Harrison Torrix's, not with braid but with fluorocarbon mainline.

I have used braid for god knows how many years
I have never had and problem with any rod rings or bite alarms ?

Surely if you're Leading\Marker constantly with a 3-4 ounce lead on thin Braid, (Dragging heavy weed in etc.) it's inevitable?
I'd like to use one of my old rods as a marker rod and might change the guide at the top.
Anyone know if some guides are more durable against line wear than others?

I only fit fuji/ kigan guides and in 10 years of doing so to my knowledge have never had one groove.

All I can say is I hope the American Tackle Vortex guides are up to using braid, I have been waiting nearlly a year for my rods to be built and have just swapped to braided mainline

I was advised not to have the AT vortex as I fish with braid. Not due to wear, but apparently the braid sounds horrible coming through the guides! I went with Fuji BCKWAG in the end.
