What in the panels opinion is the best fluorocarbon hook link, and how many of you change to fluro mainlines in winter? cheers.

Personally I like ESP soft ghost for hooklink. It's all I've ever used but has never let me down so why change. I use it in 15lb.
For mainline, using flouro would be more about the situation than the time of year. It's not always the right option, depending on your angling situation.

If you are looking for a soft hook link then frog hair fluorocarbon takes some beating for suppleness and reliability.

Used esp soft ghost in 18lb for donleys years never had a problem with it 👍🏼
Edit - only prob is its doubled in price in that time due to carp tax

never used Fluro mainline but for hook links (booms etc ) i use Berkley Trilene Big Game Flurocarbon. Much cheaper than carp stuff and does the job

I tried fluro mainline a few years ago and found it a bugger for frap ups in the winter as it went very springy

Used 17lb xline on my reels for years absolutely love the stuff in the right situation , (switch back to mono for range work )as long as you look after it , and regularly stretch it , it performs brilliantly 👍 as for hooklinks I use the 20lb version which I also use for leaders too , again no probs at all , total confidence in xline

Appreciate it's everyone to their own but it's another shout for x line. Have used for a number of years now both as a main line and occasionally for hook links and have great confidence in it.Like previous post I have to untwist and stretch every now and then but for me worth the extra ag.
