The only way is to try. It may work for a while then stop as it was designed for Amazon App Store content only. Good luck.

I gave it a go and it wasn't worth the faff. I bought a cheap android tablet instead.

Both the same depends on your budget.
Let's face it a cheap android tablet vs brand new apple iPad your feel less bad if your drop the android one and break the screen or water damage etc.
If your use with a WiFi repeater spend the difference on a decent power bank as WiFi drains devices quicker.
