Recently got some spomb braid for my spod rod and bloody impressed, can hit 130 and im pants at casting. Question is, what do you lot use for your marker braid??

Daiwa J Braid X8. 0.23mm for markering (with leader)

I also use the the j braid x8 in 40lb think its around 0.24mm still casts very well i dont have to wet it before casts it just behaves, i prefer the extra strength for marker work compared to spodding in case i end up bringing big balls of weed in

I've used Power Pro, Korda, and the fake Chinese stuff off ebay which works but is a lot thicker pound for pound. Would still happily use Power Pro or Korda but the Daiwa stuff is cheaper and just as good imo. Just filled another spool with 0.35 for spodding straight through and used it for a few bait ups with no problems.

What kind of distance are you getting with the .35 j braid? I've been using the .24 and it flies on the cast but prefer to use something heavier as an extra help against the wind knots.

Only tried it up to 80 yards. Think I'd struggle much over 100 though.

I don't wet it and it behaves just fine. Wouldn't dare not wet the 0.23!

Someone on here a while back suggested spectra braid off eBay, it's dead cheap and thin. I bought it in orange 20-30lb (can't remember exact) it's been sound so far but I've only used it on a few outings.

Make sure you check the diameter as well as the breaking strain. You could have knit a decent scarf from the cheap spectre stuff I bought in 50lb.
