Getting back into the sport after having all my gear nicked 12 or so years ago. Just found a Daiwa Emblem S 500T in the shed that I used for spudding all those years ago. There's a small chip in one of the seat arms that the rod collar holds onto of about 5 to 7 mm by 10 to 12 mm so it probably won't be very secure when fixed to a rod. Is this something that can be repaired or is the whole reel unusable now. Would prefer to try and save it rather than just throwing it in the bin.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If the reel seat fits over it enough it should be fine.

Have you tried it in the reel seat? Half of one of my Penn feet snapped off leaving a stub at the back. Seat still tightens down onto it ok and used it the other week without it moving about or causing any trouble

That sounds exactly like how I was trying to describe it on mine but in my case it's the front foot. It's almost like it's got half of the front foot missing for about 12 to 15mm. Apart from that it's in good working order so I'd like to keep it to keep down the vast of buying all new gear. I was going to give it to my 16 year old to help him get started.
