ve had my 11ft carp rods since the 90s and am looking to reduce the size of my set up with extendable rods; the smaller the better! So I need some advice. So far Ive looked at the Nash Dwarf shrink 9ft 3lb tc, Sonik extractor recon 8ft 3lb tc, Daiwa crossfire 9ft 2.75lb tc but welcome any other suggestions. The lakes I fish dont require distance casting but do contain doubles up to 35lb so the rod must be capable of handling that should I be lucky enough to hook one. Also looking to reduce my luggage to suit if anyone has any suggestions.

Recently got a set of 9ft dwarfs about 6 weeks ago, I love them I use them more than my normal 12ft free spirits now. Trust me you won't be disappointed

I've had fish upto 32lb on the dwarf shrink 3.25tc with no bother whatsoever. They are a decent rod and the 3.25tc gives you that extra bit of backbone for solid bag fishing.

Maybe have a look at the Korum range of compact tackle,both luggage,rods and Zelos mini pits,all at reasonable price points..

The dwarfs appeal to me. What reels do you use on yours? I have Shimano 6010 Aero GT but a bit worried they might be too big. What do you think?

Thamks but Korum only do the retractable rod in 10ft. The reason I want to cut down on size is because I take a variety of rods so I have choice of feeder, float or leger so the more compact the better.

Sonik xtractor all the way forget Nash if you can pay more the sonik insurgent is good ad doing a deal on them good rods at the right price

Thanks all. Decided on the 8ft, 3lb tc Sonik xtractor recons. Ordered the sleeves and keepnet too so a lightweight compact set up! Still pondering on whether to keep my shimmy aero xt-7 6010 reels or seall them and buy the 4000dl. They just look so small incomparison and I keep visioning it resembling a match rod and reel. Lol
