Any recommendations on a floating line for zig fishing?

I use the Korda dedicated zig line. Have had fish to 41.12 using it as a zig hook length and loads of 20's using it on a certain Essex water where zigs are the go to method... very good knot strength, low viz, low memory and good stretch - which you need when using lighter lines. I use the 7lb in open water where the fish aren't too big, else the 11lb is perfect for most other situations. Prior to that, for many years I used 10lb Daiwa Sensor Clear, which in 15lb is still the line I use when zig fishing in weed or over/near snags... I notice someone is mentioning the old Drennan DS - not so sure about that! We used to call it Drennan Double Trouble!

I have to agree, the abrasion resistance of Double Strength is next to none existent. It was good stuff 20 years ago but there are much better around nowadays imho.
My recommendation is Rig Marole Specimon in 10lb. If weed is a big issue step up to the 12lb.

. . .also agree - Double Sh*te . . .weak under pressure, you need to be very very gently bedding down any knot as it pig tails like a mofo - much better alternatives out there now . . .

Never had one issue with the D.S yet the korda and fox zig line is utter *****.I saw a video the other day from one of the bloggers on yateley I think it was and he had the korda line go twice on both takes both times in the exact same place

Can they tie knots. Would personally stay away from pre stretched/double strength lines.

I don't know anyone who still uses Drennan Dog *****, so much better available now. The Korda zig and (especially) their floater lines are excellent and a lot of the chaps use it with zero problems. Anyone having trouble with those lines needs to learn how to tie knots

That's correct, it's critical to use the right knots with both the Korda zig and floater lines or you will have issues. People having problems - user error, end of. Used correctly, very reliable lines and almost everyone I fish with really rates them.

Almost all the issues people have had with lines are linked to knot failure, ergo it is the weakest link - if you use them correctly, they are excellent. I've had several fish over 30lb using the 7lb zig line, testament to how good these lines are me thinks. If the line has broken away from the knot, then the most likely cause is line damage - NOT a failure in the structural integrity of the line itself.
I've been using the afore mentioned Korda lines for many years now - catching large numbers of carp on zigs from waters such as Layer, surface fishing on runs waters where you easily get up to 20+ doubles in an afternoon/evening and then on a well known Cambridgeshire syndicate water that's deep and weedy, with fish typically averaging over 30lb... may be I've just been lucky, but those lines have served me well and the only fish lost have been down to hook pulls or my own stupid cockups.
Are you really basing your entire opinion on a youtube clip or have you used these lines over a sustained period, as I have and so have many others who favour these lines for their zig and surface fishing. Just saying... anyway, tight lines mate
