So, I'm doing the north coast 500 soon, me, the missus and the new dog
Anybody done a bit of fishing up there? What to expect, where abouts, tactics etc?
Also maybe a bit of Stillwater, trout, salmon, even better still?
Got a travel spinning rod and fancying a play around

I'm doing it again in a couple of weeks but doing Yorkshire and Northumberland on the way up. Why you not going on the bike?

Going with the wife pal since we are not going abroad this year. She won't get on the back of the bike.
Couple of my mates are doing the NC 500 on their bikes in the next couple of weeks

A few of us are stopping in Hexham for three nights and doing ride outs from there. First night in Scotland is Perth but there will be more of us doing Scotland, thirty two bikes if everybody makes it.

Hexham is about 25 miles from me. Great salmon fishing on the tyne near hexham but the river is on its arse at the minute and needs some water in it asap. Theres a quite a few trout farms around that way as well that allow spinning so they will be your best bet, theres whittle dene, fontburn and kielder reservoir which are probably your best bet for some spinning. My old carp syndicate lake used to be just outside of hexham next to Langley castle and was set inside a conifer forrest. Its the most picturesque beautiful lake ive ever fished. Wish i still had my ticket for it.
