I have dragged out my MK1 trakker armadillo which I have not used for at least 10 years, put it up in the garden just to check / test it and see if its still waterproof etc and did not have to ait long before the rain came along, on the winter skin this is what happened after it rained, probably due to it being so old/dried out etc. See pic below, do we think that could be re-sealed or is it fit for the bin?

I have a titan that has done something a bit similar but still haven't got round to doing anything about it. In my research on how to fix it I found a video of a guy who made waterproof canvas, this was done using silicon sealant and white spirit if I remember correctly. Once made you paint it onto the material and then it's sealed, search YouTube for it, that's the only thing I could suggest you do with this

thanks guys, I think I will sell it on as spares or repairs, someone might be able to get a new winter skin for it or try to repair it

The front of my extreme winterskin for mk 1 armadillo delaminated and leaked like a sieve.
A good coat inside and out with a 10% solution of clear silicone sealant and odourless white spirit sorted it out. Don't mix it any stronger as the sealant will form a skin and can be peeled off. Better weak so then the sealant dries in the fabric. I also pulled off most of the backing that had delaminated. It's only nylon with a pu backing at the front.
Also don't mix it well in advance as it will go off and you end up with a rubbery mess.

I'm still using my mk1 aqua heritage armo and trakker wrap,the wrap is mint,so is the armo cept the tape sealing is starting to lift,however it does not leak at all,as I sealed from the outside,using a specialist seam sealer..

All my tapes came off my overwrap years ago when I used some Johnson waterseal that had gone off since I had used it last to to do my bivvy and it was like thick paste and took about 3 weeks to dry. But I just used a seam sealer to sort it. But it seems that white spirit and silicon sealer has done a better job

It's a pity bivvies went from life items to ten year life span.

Orange peel effect my aqua m1 sadley went that way. Delamination of the fabric caused by age or bacteria mould. I treated it with fab no use still leaked bad. Then over the next few weeks Thompson brick sealant orginal one loads of silicone in it. But made no difference all that re sealing does is help with beading of rain. I got a fine mist through it. Mine wasnt as bad as the one in the photo. But dont waste ur time and money wont work
