I need a new marker rod at under £100.
Marker work only up to 100yds with 3 to 4oz lead.
Have seen the Sonik Vader XRS S & M any users of that care to comment or any other suggestions in that price range ?

Use a spod rod mate there stiffer so you get a better feel what your pulling the lead over

I have used the Sonik Spod and Marker rod, and its ok for both. Maybe a little bit of loss of feeling compared to the Century M1 it replaced, but I am fishing a very weedy water so it is not an issue I have noticed.
I have cast out with a 3.5oz lead and medium Spomb to around 80metres with no problems.
However, the 50mm butt rings are fragile. I have had to replace it when the liner cracked in transit.
A problem that Big Bertha and her 40mm butt ring never had, and I cast her DD's further with the same Aerlex reel and Spomb.

Yeh thanks, it seems nigh on impossible to buy a rod without 50mil butt rings these days.
Also looking at Tackle Box marker rod CF-X black edition , that also has 50 mil butt ring but gets good reviews.

I have the spod rod and it's superb,you can have custom build by them if want 40mm

I have the Tackle Box rod. Lot of rod for the money. A pleasure to use, can't fault it. Seriously considering getting rid of my X5 Horizons and replacing them with the equivalent TB rods.
