Just bought some NGT magnetic bivvy hooks. How do I hang them to the ceiling of my bivvy? I thought a piece of magnetic metal would come with it to put on the outside of the bivvy. Does anyone use these?

Yeah I have them, they are excellent. The little circular bit of metal on the bottom stamped NGT is a plate. Pull it off. It's hard as the magnet is strong. That little plate then goes on outside of bivvy material.

The hook screws into the other side... Not the plate stamped NGT.
I don't work for them mate or know why they made it to screw in, just trying to help you.
You figured it out yet? The bit of metal right at the bottom stamped NGT is the metal plate you're looking for.

Oh I didn't realise the NGT written bit came off lol I feel stupid. Wow its a strong magnet! I really hope it doesn't damage my bivvy material!

Don't worry your not alone. When I purchased mine it was from Amazon. In the reviews two people were complaining there was no plate. People had to explain to them too.
The magnet is very strong. Strong enough to hold up a completely soaked heavy gore-tex jacket. Tremendous bits of kit. The material will be fine.

They are no good with bivvies that have an inner dome.

The prices NGT are charging are astronomical, same as Nash who charge £12.99 for just one. One hell of a mark up on them.
Go onto EBay and you will find that you can buy 5 for those prices and they are identical and just as strong which is what I did a few years ago. Not sure what the prices are now.
One of the problems with them can be removing them off the Bivvy, because they are so powerful, you can put little moon shape cuts in the Bivvy if you tilt the backing and it is not overlapping the magnet. It's better to slide the backing off the magnet.
I also use 2p pieces, they are slightly bigger than the supplied backing and I also cover them in white shrinktube, it makes them easier to find if they drop off when packing up and also when removing them helps stop those moon shaped cuts in the Bivvy.
Go Outdoors was selling 6 of those magnets off cheap from £26 reduced to £10 a while back with different fittings to screw into them and came in a presentation case. I bought 2 sets.
Looking on EBay, still cheap, just look for the strong ones.
