So Ive recently purchased a bedchair but Im still undecided on the sleeping bag. Im currently looking at trakker big snooze and sonik sk-tek sleeping bag for £60 each. Has anyone used these before?
Im looking for something I can use throughout the year so I think I need a 5 season sleeping bag. Can I get a decent one for under £80 or is it worth spending the extra money for the likes of the Cyprinus magmatex or Gardner carp duvet?

I had big snooze when they first came out, the zip fell apart after only a few nights . Other than that it was decent, and that was many years ago

Alex. are you always hot or cold as a person?
for me. the really warm sleeping bags. true 5 season rating are unusable most of the year. i would just get too hot.
i used to use an older big snooze with a thermal cover all throughout winter. i like to sleep with merino thermals
on in winter and joggers and fleece myself. as I'm always in and out of the bed and bivvy.
other people want the warmest you can buy. you read comments like. ' i was out in minus 5 last weekend stripped down to my shorts and it was almost too warm'
i think sod that. thats way too warm for me.

I wouldn't say I feel the cold particularly (I was a postie for over 20 years until recently), I have a big snooze and Trakker thermal waterproof cover (the older heavy one), but it's only any good for spring through to autumn. I sleep in a Trakker thermal undersuit but on cold nights it's just not warm enough, and being cold is no fun.
I got an Avid Thermafast 5 when TFT were giving them away free with a £300 spend (they were selling them for £85 at the time which was much cheaper than anyone else anyway), and that's a different league, much warmer.

I also agree, the Trakker Big snooze is only good for late spring to early Autumn , but also too warm in the Height of Summer.
I bought a Gardner carp duvet for Autumn through to Spring .

It's far too warm to be inside in the Height of Summer, I lay on top of it, but remove the inner which is like a small quilt and pull that over me . I find that just about right for me.

Cyprinus do good ones for the money. I got the 3/5 season removable one and that was around that price
