For years I've been cooking inside but the missus has had enough now
Therefore I'm on the lookout for a set up to cook big batches of particle outside...just curious as to who uses what

Cast iron one ring stove,gas bottle and a big pan.If you can find an old catering firm who sell old stock you can pick pans up dirt cheap.I used to use a burco but prefer this set up.I chuck stove in my fishing shed and leave bottle outside with pan sat over the top,it takes seconds set up

2021 thread bump.
What size pan would you recommend for just doing 2-3kg off say hemp at a time?
I'm thinking an 8L stock pot would suffice?
Capacity: 8 Litres ( Approx )
Diameter = 23cm
Height = 20 Cm

If it's hemp don't bother cooking soak hemp in water overnight in cold box drain off add kettle water leave overnight done

Have a read of this, not hemp related but Pigeon Conditioner. But I'd guess the same applies to hemp.

Cam - I'd just get a big pot, then this covers you for any eventuality - you can cook small amounts in a big pot, but you can't cook large amounts in a small pot!!

I've always done the Pigeon Conditioner in the cool box method which means I must be lazy
TBF I will never do a large cook up as the most I would ever do is 36-48 hrs. My fishing is mainly overnighters, so lucky to do 12 hrs max.
Hemp, I can do in the cool box aswell (sooo lazy!) just Tigers being my main concern, I just used hemp as an example.
I think I'll bite the bullet on a 8L as it's only a £10 on the bay and should be adequate enough for a kilo of tigers.

I have a 15L and that will easily do 3kg of dry tigers with plenty of room to spare. Ive done much larger batches to freeze in handy session bags too.
If you cant get a 10L then you'll have the extra capacity to do a larger batch of anything if needed. Saves potentially having to buy a bigger pot in the future?

Callum, you work at BAF, somewhere with many hemp seeds and tigers.
Weigh a litre of dry hemp / tigers, then cook and chreck volume of all cooked bait, then you know how much you can fill up each pot. I get 1.6kg hemp from 1kg dry seeds and I believe thats a litre but I'll have to check to jug
