Hi All,
I was having an interesting discussion with a few lads down the local about freezer bait and making sure it's thawed out before fishing etc. One of the guys there said the particular boilie he uses he feels does better once it's on day 4. He said it goes really sticky and starts to turn and is ideal for instant attraction and he has done best doing it with this method on that bait.
Myself I only normally take the baits out of the freezer the day before I go.
Just wondered if any of you leave your baits that long?

Usually I take them out the freezer as I'm leaving the house, however I have had some success taking them out the night before and once they have defrosted, coating them with liquid e from UCN. Generally I've found coating with other liquids makes no difference to catches at all. As for leaving them a number of days, I have to admit that I have never tried it but I understand the logic and I know some baits have a reputation for improving after sweating in the bag.

It's always worth experimenting with your bait to see how it performs at different stages.
Many of us found out by accident many years ago with the Richworth frozen baits being left in the plastic packaging in the sun, which then turned sticky, very effective it can be but not with all baits.

Depends on how long a session I am doing. My bait tends to 'turn' a bit too much after 4 days so if doing a 3 day session tend to take out the night before I'm going, or possibly the morning of if not going until the evening. Most of my sessions are overnighters so get them out the day before. On occasions where I am glugging the bait (usually if it's been in the freezer a little too long) I leave in a bucket with glug on for at least a few days adding the liquid when the baits are straight out of the freezer

one bait i use i wont leave out for long, in fact id sooner keep it frozen or at least as cool as possible pre use.
the other tigernut based one (not tiger flour) i'll leave out until the bait goes sticky, thats the best time to use it

White Tutties, they did some damage
I found mainline hybrid to be at its best when taken out the freezer before leaving home, opening straight up and squeezing some hybrid liquid into the bag so as they defrost they absorb the liquid. Was using them as soon as i started fishing but day 2 seemed to be when they were at their best
This was in the warmer months, just for clarification
