I have a set of brown lens glasses at the moment which I seem to remember being told were the best type of all rounder however, these don't seem to be cutting it in the very bright conditions of late.

Are green lens good for bright conditions? As I saw a pair of Fortis ones which I think were their bays and liked the look of those.

Grey is for bright sunny conditions the amber is best for lower light cloudy days

Probably more to it than that, most of mine are grey with different tint levels, also have brown ones I use in really bright conditions and Amber or pink lenses for low light

I'd have thought for fish spotting the browns would be great in these conditions. Grey would likely be better for general use but I don't think you'll gain much for spotting by going to grey tbh.

I think sometimes it's just a change of colour that helps, but I prefer grey for all day wear and brown for short periods.
Something no one seems to mention, Polaroids are directional, if you tilt your head it can increase/decrease the affect depending on the angle the light is coming from

Agree amber for low light but I don't know if it make any difference as a prescription glass wearer but I definitely find green best in bright light conditions as if give me a clearer more defined veiw.

yes most of mine have been Amber

but the OP specifically asked for a colour suitable for very bright conditions and Amber is not the colour to choose in that scenario
