Hi All,

I'm looking for a new cradle type mat, any recommendations?

I like he look of the Avid compact cradle and also the wychwood walled mat.
The new korda one don't look to bad either.

Want one that folds up so not to take up to much room when in the car, budget of £100.

I looked at loads of them and found the avid one the best of the bunch. Mine is the safeguard stormshield one with the metal frame not the collapsable one though.

Have not seen it on the bank , but the ESP new one looks and sounds ok

The new ESP one is superb, lightweight and compact.

Fox have done a new easy mat,inflatable base,full covering flap and the bag has a pocket on for your scales.

That's what I've been using for the last few years after being recommended it on here. Quality bit of kit at a really good price

very good mat,I use just the base when take youngest lad float fishing for carp.

Thanks Lads, I can't seem to find the chub mat anywhere has it been discontinued?

I really like the look on the Wychwood walled mat if I'm honest anyone own one of these?

Chub have gone now,got took over.Wychwood gear is normally very good and not stupid money

How about the NGT,cradle mat..I find it very good,and has had a lot of use,best thing about it is,it cheaper,but not poor quality than others..

Another vote for the ESP quick draw string mat, sold my Sabre cradle to buy this. Packs down into a small compact, lightweight item and it's not another bulky item that you need to consider compare to a cradle.

Esp quick draw compact mat for me such a great design Nd pack size
