I have had my holdall with my rods in stolen and need to look for some more. I am so upset I feel that there is no good in the world anymore.
My wife understands how. I feel and says I have a £5oo budget for a new set. they must be 12ft and 3.5lb. Also if anyone sees a set of Greys Aircurves going cheap let me know, cheers in advance.

Set of Free Spirit CTX 3.5lb, great rods for the money and my mate got a set off EBay for £299 used twice.

1 of my mates sold a set of aircurves few months ago got nothing near 500 so you could replace them within your budget 2nd hand

Many do a one session a year or every few years in France, Ctx is then a good affordable choice and they and the also sell good on the 2nd hand market.

Whilst you have my full sympathy on having your rods stolen, you are going to get so many different opinions on which/ what rods to buy, you will be no better off in reality.
So a couple of questions - are you looking to upgrade? If not can you get a set of replacements for £500? I would have thought so.
For years I have been banging on about ESP Vertex rods being one of the best out there in various TC's to suit, better than a vast amount of newer trendy rods ( don't be afraid to go a bit higher than your usual TC as they are super slender) but I can't remember a single person following this advice, so I'm at the stage of knowing what I know and can't be arsed to recommend any more. Good advice - unique looking rod, relatively cheap to buy from sellers who don't know what they've got, very expensive from those that do.

That was an ACE post, SET out your opinion nicely without VOLLEY of abuse. SMASHING advise and clearly making your BREAK POINT, you don't have to be a HAWKEYE to see it was STRAIGHT DOWN THE LINE.

After having a good look round, I have decided on a set of Greys GT2 3.5lb. Light responsive and casts well, happy boy.
