After demolishing several cheap brollies on the river last season I'm about to bite the bullet on a Fox Specialist 45 . . .
Couple of questions to any owners out there -
1 - Does it have 4x sets of storm caps or just 2x?
2 - Can the centre pole be fully removed and the brolly supported with storm poles to maximise room?
3 - Is it as lightweight as the figures suggest (under 3kg)?

Pretty sure there is only 2 storm caps on the lower ribs of the brolly
The centre pole can be removed or tilted.
Yes it's very light even with the 5 pegs supplied.
It's my go to shelter for shorter sessions.
Knowing of foxes reputation for brollies that fall short for Standards of quality with their brollies This little gem has been absolutely bang on. Can't fault it

Great brolly very light I personally think you should always use center pole as I took it out and used it with two storm poles and the wind blow it over almost lost it they should have supplied two storm caps on the front ribs be much better with storm poles on front in wind

Can you easily remove the ribs when collapsed to fit 2x additional storm caps? (I've got a pair of Cygnet jobs)
Looked at the Korum Graphite the other day (which is also v light) but the ribs are 7mm graphite (so the caps won't fit the rib diameter) and are also impossible to remove without damaging the thick fabric sleeves that they sit in . . .

It looks like the ribs are to thick to take storm caps unless you can get fox ones ring fox see if you can get them I spoke to a bloke that had other make caps he drilled his ones out to fit

Was worried about this as do want to be able to add front, longer poles - there's a chap on a barbel site who's done this for his Korum Graphite but it needs specialist tools and a good eye so as not to f**k it up etc . . .
Do Fox still sell their own caps? The old ones were ABS / Plastic at the attachment end so presumably easier to drill out?

You can swap the ribs around so the storm caps are on the front ribs. No need for storm poles on the lower ribs as well as the front. I did exactly this on this brolly and works fine.

That makes sense as the mini sides look micro rather than mini and can presumably just be pegged down taught . . .
Re swopping ribs is this easy to do without breaking / damaging the ribs and or boss? Or are they just friction fit located at either end so you can bend / pull out . . ? Assume they are also the same size . . ? Duffers guide please . .!

I'd be a bit dubious about the last one.
I just admit, had one I use for poaching, turned out to be a very very good bit of kit. Had mine a good 6/7 years now and the only hole in it was from when it blew across a barbed wire fence. You can get extra storm caps if you ring fox, they are the same as a supa brolly, just use a cable tie to hold them in place.

It was quite some time ago I did it but can't recall any issues. Took about 30 IIRC, you need to remove the nut/bolt from the block on the end of the rib and also the support arm. With a little flex the fibre glass rib is free. Takes a bit of time as you need to remove 4 ribs and reassemble. Handy little brolly.

I don't think you get a bed under it it's designed as a river brolly sitting on a chair it's only a 45

Have bitten the bullet and have one on order from AD for under £100 . . .
Cable tie sounds a little bit heath robinson? Will the cap not move when under pressure from the storm pole / elements?

In days gone by 45" was all we had to get a bed under .... no wideboys/super comfy bedchaurs back in them days though. I reckon you would get one of the smaller bedchairs under it

The Argos international bed chair was a tight fit under the 45's.
