I was having a debate with a few fellow club members last weekend on safe amounts of tigers to use and it seems some of our ideas are miles apart.
I, myself only use them in very small quantities at a time, something like 1lb will do me for 3 rods over a session. However, one of the guys was saying he puts in a kilo or 2 at a time!

No idea mate, I've always used in small quantities

Less is more in my opinion. The thing with Tigers is due to the fact there quite hard I dont think carp can deal with them in large amounts. Peanuts on the other hand I would use in bigger quantities. Just my two penenth for what its worth.

Funny, I always thought you would use peanuts sparingly

Years ago I watched a guy baiting up with peanuts by the kilo bag... he caught loads but can't imagine it did the fish any good.

Don't need many, 3 average pouch loads around each hook bait is something that works for me, then top up if catching

Peanuts can cause preoccupation like most seeds and nuts and contain high levels of a vitamin that can cause severe problems with carp. Long time since this was brought up but I think it's a kind of muscular dysfunction in them.

I cook around 5 kilogram and split them into freezer bags around half a kilo. Then add them to few kilos of hemp and tin of corn.

Its vitamin E mate. Think Tim paisley wrote about it in one of his books. But when they got banned fish got bigger and in better condition. Also wasnt benson the big common killed by preoccupation on p nuts. Just try eating just one peanut from a packet.

I usually only put a couple of pouches out around each rig........when fishing. if baiting up id use a bit more but look to spread around the lake......the carp will also do this by crunching up / pooping out etc

In a small UK lake that would be too much yes.
From looking at where you said you fished it seems as though that is 1km long by .5km wide? In which case is Much larger than the average lake fished in the uk and I would assume has some lumps and plenty of nusience fish and shoals of small carp in which case that may well be fine for your lake.
On a regular basis though yes I think that is too much for your lake too.....
