Was wondering if there are any cheap additives that could make my bait go further, I am contemplating taking some sunflower oil from the kitchen! Anyone know if any of the cheap supermarket oils such as olive or vegetable oil could boost a bait and make it slightly more attractive? Or just any cheap attractor from your local supermarket?

Thai Type Fish Sauce amongst many others......the world's your Oyster (sauce)
Hemp Oil (not starting the can fish detect oils debate either)
Any nut butter let down with some Glycerol, lovely dip right there.
Spices...hmm...Asafoetida, Fenugreek, the list is endless.

Marmite, the fish will either love it or hate it.

Tesco sells this stuff. A very decent alternative to the usual fish oils and a useful nutritional additive.

Not an oil but shrimp paste from a Chinese supermarket.

Avoid the block version that folks rave about as its mainly corn flour.

The paste is very versatile.

My mate showed me some prawn paste the other day from a chinese supermarket. Absolutely reeks, looks interesting though.
I think personally on the oil front, you may as well use sunflower oil. Does exactly the same as every other oil and its pennies in comparison

Asian supermarkets have a brilliant selection of attractors and additives to choose from, and a lot cheaper as no carp tax!,
Be careful with oils, a lot of boilies work by being soluble so they leak off attraction, if they're covered in oil it would hinder the boilie from doing what it's supposed to do.

Prawn paste, aka, Belacan/Belachan, do a forum/ internet search for it, very well regarded fish attractor

Hot summers night after using that as a dip, get into your bag...not even sure mozzies would come near you

Oil is oil. I use rapeseed, clo and hemp oil all from the supermarket.

I was actually thinking of putting some garlic in and then leaving it overnight to absorb the flavour to make a garlicy oil, think this would be a good idea?

I really rate toasted sesame oil... Carp seem to really like the stuff.

As Mark has posted, chili flakes in sunflower oil is a very effective additive. You can do the same with crushed garlic or garlic puree.

Toated sesame oil is another goodie but don't go mad with the stuff. 10-25ml per kilo.

Are you sure?
