Looking for rod recommendations at a £500 per rod limit, need to cover distances up to 150 yards and be able to smash out 4.5 - 5oz pva bags at 120 yards ish, the waters i fish are fairly weedy and have fish up to high 40's any recommendations are appreciated thanks

Have a look at Eden Custom Rods. Some of the rods I've seen them build are out of this universe.
I told my misses that after buying 2 sets of custom TE's by Vic Gibson that I wasn't buying anymore, but I'm already thinking about how I can sneak a set of Eden's past her.

If I was going to get a set of distance rods I'd have to have a session with either Mark Hutchinson or Terry Edmonds and try a few blanks out. What suits others may well be dreadful for you and it's a lot of money to see Halved over night.
Equally you would be able to jump between a 12' and 13' blank.

Personally I would say century make the best blanks by a country mile, a C2 SP 12 3.6 would do all you want perfectly and it's still a nice rod to play fish on for the Test Curve... Very slim and light blank, With a nice action...

I found the EXACT opposite ?? when I had an accident with top section on my NG hey could not have been more helpful WONDERFUL AFTER SALES

Same here. When I broke the tip of a discontinued beachcaster they were able to sort me out with a replacement tip for £15. It was quite a few years ago though.

Century is great, just a shame that the shops in Belgium that sell Century sucks, but found a top shop in the Netherlands where i will order my custom build set

I've found them very helpful - both before I got their rods, advising me on models and afterwards. They even sent me out some FOC rod bags when I got my C2s custom built and wasn't supplied any from the builder.

customer service bad?!!!
bust an eye on a NG, told to send it back, replaced free of charge.
bust an arm on a landing net, inquired for a replacement, told they no longer make that model, so had no parts, but still had the old metal things to roll the carbon around, so they made me 2 new arms and sent me a free mesh.
was cleaning rods one time and rubbed the autoclave stickers so much they rubbed off, they sent me about 10 of them free. also took all the serial numbers of my rods and sent me all their history which i never asked for.

Your going to get various answers from people on this depending on where their brand loyalty lies, and what they currently have. Not many people will say what they have spent thousands on is rubbish and will try to convince themselves they are the best.
Id speak to rod builders who stock century, harrison and free spirit, and explain to them what you want from the rod. They will be able to guide you and give you honest opinions about what is best for you

Fair enough it's good to hear some get good service. Shame it's not everyone
