Hi, I've only been carp fishing for a couple of years, and I have Shimano st 10000rb reels, I've started fishing a couple of lakes that require me to get 25ish wraps, but I'm struggling to get this, I have tried using my sons sonik vadar x frs pro 10000 reels and I'm getting that distance ok, I'm looking for advice as to what big pit reels with rear bait runner there are on market other than the sonik reels upto the £80 price range?

Have you tried ditching the bait runner? Quick drag reels make the change over alot easier and it will open the market up to you then. Also less to go wrong and break in a standard reel as opposed to a BR.

I know they are slightly above your budget but, Bristol Angling Centre have Daiwa Crosscast 45 SCW QD reels for £99.99. Perfect for long range casting and fishing.

Try the Mitchell Avocast 7000's Black Edition, they do a free spool version and a quick drag version. I bought 3 of the quick drags a few years ago, and was so impressed with them, I bought 3 of the free spool ones as well. They were quite a bit cheaper back then than they are now, but still are a good buy at about £65 each.
