Hi, I need some guidance - direction toward buying first carp rods. List below is what I have options on. Not a newbie to fishing, carping will be occasional days only with my son. Looking to buy 4 rods. Be great to have some votes for/against. Thanx.
2x Daiwa Powermesh Z 12' 2.5 TC
2x 12ft Master Carp2 2.75 TC
2x Grey's prodigy's 12ft 2.75lb
2x Cassic carp rods 12' 2.5lb
2x Sonik Vader x 12' 2.75lb
2x Giant 12' 2.75lb
2x Nash outlaw 12' 2.5lb
2x Ron Thompson zenroflex 12' 2.5lb
2x Ron Thompson zenroflex 12' 2.75lb + Free (brand) reels on both
2 X Wychwood Rogue 12' 2.5lb Rods

Have had the Sonik Vader X 12ft 3.00 can't say anything wrong about it, for its price a very good rod

Out of those options I would go Daisy, Greys or Sonik. All very decent entry level rods.

You should consider your local secondhand market on Facebook Marketplace or equivalent. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck.

another vote for sonik in the lower price range new but i'd set a budget and find a higher end 2nd hand set up in that budget.. ebay.. market place and the usual local facebook groups..

Another vote for sonik, they make exceptional value rods.
U wont go wrong with them.

You mention 4 rods.

I'd get 2 x 2.5 TC and 2 x 3.25 TC and I would look for second hand Harrison's.

Wasn't impressed with the sonic blanks possibly consider Greys.

Take a look at the Darent Valley range of rods at the Tackle Box in Dartford. Got my son 2 of their 11ft rod - really impressed with them. Look great and perform very well. 12ft 3lb version is £60. Well worth considering IMO.
