Getting fed up going through rucksacks because the zips break, and not worth while getting them repaired.

Does anyone use an ex army style rucksack with clips/drawstring? (Don't mind a zip on side pockets).

Ideally something smallish say 40-50 litres, with a few internal/external pockets for odds and sods. Loops for carabiners etc also a big plus.

Yea used them over the years good bits off kit you can get a 50 litre if memory serves me right and u can zip side pockets on and off it

I do - northern ireland patrol pack - 35 litres I think.

brilliant, best bit of kit I've bought for ages, yonny on here put me onto it and must say I'd but another in heart beat.

Have a look on this website, I used a German Alpine rucksack for years, that had just a draw string and straps. About the nearest is the Norwegian Telemark bergan or the reproduction.

Alternatively look at the US Alice Packs as they have done the test of time. I have both sizes of them and they just have drawstrings and Buckles. The largest one is best if they have it as it has a lot of pockets on the outside.

Avoid Brandit gear,poor stitching on my 80 litre..
