I can just never seem to leave a bait out that long... 12 hours max for me. If I haven't had a touch I normally reel in (bite time dependent of course)

12 hours is about the max for me too.
Thoughts of a tangled rig etc. start entering my head, and I'll lose confidence with that particular rod.
I know I shouldn't but.........................

I have no problem leaving my rig out 24hrs (hookbait dependant.)

depends where you fish and what bait is on the hook
I caught a fish at rainbow on a brazil nut that had been out 5 days its very common at that lake to leave baits in position for days

Quite often 24 hours 48 if I can find someone to watch the rods while I pop to the loo

Alternatives available to leaving your swim for a pony, ports potty type things old school bag in a bucket 🪣 I fished a water where bites came first light through to midday, after having a bbq the night before I discreetly used a bag/bucket whereas mate in the next swim reeled in during bite time to go to the site facilities. Whilst he was gone I had a 38 and a 36, if I hadn't had used an alternative ‘toilet' I wouldn't have those two fish in my album
I guess similar happens at Rainbow

On Brackens Pool I was happy to leave baits in position for 48 hours without moving them. It produced a number of fish that were rarely caught including a couple of unknown 30's.
One session the regularly recast rod only produced doubles, while the rod left in place for 2 days produced a fish at over 30 that had not been seen before.

Only 5 days Gerry, left a double tigernut rig out 9 days went off with a sixty
took some doing I was going to check/re-drop after 5 days but my mate said leave it it'll go off with a big one he wasn't wrong.
As you say depends on the circumstances and type of hookbait but i'll happily leave them out all weekend over here.
