Question for you TA mat users..
when folded up, how big is it?
I am looking at purchasing one decent mat for all situations. One that can be folded up and used on evening or day sessions, but also will be sufficient enough for the fish
I currently have a Chub cradle style mat and it is massive. Perfect for the fish but you need a barrow to transport it anywhere.

It's nice and light but if you want something compact it ain't the one.
It can be used as a makeshift carryall if your travelling light, and it's pretty comfy to lay on.
I'm tempted to get the esp one for mobile sessions, but the esp looks gossamer thin in comparison

I knew it wouldn't be compact, but if the strap works well and you can carry it on your shoulder then that's great. And to be honest I like the fact that you can use it as a makeshift carryall if needed.
I was also looking at the ESP one, but couldn't see any shoulder straps on the video?

Just get a couple of clips from eBay with a bit of webbing job done.

The esp rolls up and clips to a rucksack.
The strap works OK on the ta.
I find it a pain if I need a rucksack tho, not quite long enough to put over your head comfortably, and too long to use as a handle without wrapping around your wrist a few times.
Too big to clip below a rucksack so I ended up clipping it over my ruck bag so I look like a ninja turtle

Have a look at the born and bred mat,I have it with polyballs added and it is light and very good quality

I had same problem why don't they test the length so it goes over shoulder ta gear is good but lack of thought

When it's just the matt it's about right, but with a rucksack on and rods and shelter in the matt it needs another few inches really. Although, that would also make it harder to use it as a handle...
Small annoyance but I'd still buy another one

I was looking at this mat my concern is how long will it be before ever fisherie wants everyone to use a cradle mat any thoughts from anyone

If the strap is an issue on the TA one, then maybe I need to rethink
Typically I would have a bag on my back, rods in one hand, chair in the other and the mat over my shoulder
