Hi was just wanted some recommendations of some budget bait runner reels under £25
The two bait runner reels I have right now are=
Shakespeare Beta 60 FS
Shakespeare Cypry 40FS
Please give some suggestions of good budget reels like these.

Go for second hand, best brands are Shimano, Daiwa, Okuma, but these may still be out of your price range. Goodish brands are Fox, Wychwood, Nash, Sonik, Mitchell. There's probably other brands that are ok also.

Looking at the reels you posted they both have 1+1 bearings...
Its not only about bearings when it comes to reels but take a look at 'TF Gear Airlite Free Spool Reel' or 'Hardwear Freerunner Deluxe Reel'. Cant personally recommend these but for your budget they have OK specs and reviews.
If you could squeeze another £20 for each reel I can recommend the sonik vader x FS reels, otherwise it will be second hand market

Tbh if you want bait runners that will last more than 5 minutes you will need to up your budget a bit. The lower end Shimano or okuma would be a good starting point

Personally I would prefer to buy a set of second hand Emblem 5000t gold reels. These aren't bait runners and although I do own a set now, along with two sets of none bait runners I didn't for well over 25 years.
As a kid I had a set of Mitchell RD1600 which where not bait runners but pretty sturdy for what they where. I just removed the racket to allow a more freely running spool and used the front drag the allow line to be taken.

I would agree -
A pair of second hand gold emblems should cost £60 - £80 depending on condition and they will be a much better bet than any budget baitrunners.
Very reliable and built to last.

You should be able to pick up a used set of Shimano st1000's for that sort of money.

I've got 2 of the DAM Quick 1 FS reels for my little dwarf rods for fishing at the local park lake with my kids.
They were £25 each from what I recall.
I have to say, for the price, they are fantastic! I've been really impressed with them.
I have tournaments and old emblems on my other rods so was a little sceptical - but 9 months on I still think they're great.

If you wanted to stay with the Shakespeare theme then amazon seem to have some 60 fs omni reels for £29.95 which should be a slight step up from what you have now.
However they probably only have 2+1 bearing not 4+1 as stated which would be the old higher spec sigma version.

Those Shakespeare reels are utter rubbish don't waste your money.
I had some on my 9ft rods that I use when on holidays, evening sessions and gave them away after one use. The spools are sticky and very jerky and they are plastic rubbish.
I replaced them with some Shimano ST's as didn't want to spend a fortune as they would only get used a few times a year. Or as others have suggested go secondhand eBay etc with Shimano's even Sonik's just don't go with the Shakespeare's.
