Hi all, I'm looking to buy an item from a fb angling page. Am I right in saying if I pay via goods and services I'm covered if the item doesn't come and I get 'scammed?
Sorry may seem obvious but I'm not to good with that sort of thing.

pay the extra 3% charge or whatever it is now for the seller and you are covered via goods and services
If they have a problem with it walk away
Don't pay with friends and family

PayPal take about 3% of the seller which is why most of them want paying friends and family

Yes it is but the seller will ask you to pay the bit extra to cover the fees normally

As far as I know, paying with paypal is a very good idea. I know for sure that there are big companies that work with it and are pretty happy with it. From the other hand, I have worked with both systems, and I can say for sure that the most professional way to do it is contacting a company and organize a direct paying system. It is safer, it's simply safer. Here gambling payment processors you can see how you can do it and all the advantages. It is a good way to boost your business for sure, and this way your costumers will be happy. Wish you a good collaboration.

Lots of sellers dont like PayPal anymore, i thought it was always a scam if they refused paypal. But its so easy to scam sellers with paypal now.
PayPal take about 3% which is why there are a number that won't accept PayPal as a payment method. I suppose you could pay by PayPal using the friends and family option but personally speaking I wouldn't unless I knew them. Alternatively you could pay by visa/debit card but I appreciate that many are wary ‘including me' of putting in they card details. You could on the other hand visit the shop but this wouldn't be my preferred option as the shop may be many many miles away, or alternatively it could be on your doorstep but i appreciate that there are those that are lazy and if I'm honest that wouldn't be my preferred option either. Think it's probably best I give up fishing really.

It's a hard one, as I sell my cutlery via friends and family, which could seem dodgy, but it's to keep them as cheap as possible. But it's a trust thing I guess, all it would take is someone to put on my page that Iv scammed them to it to really effect potential customers. I'm honest at the end of the day like many others but like all walk of life there are many that are not

If buying then use the link i posted above and pay the little bit extra it costs to buy as goods, for example if an item is £30 then pay by goods and send £31.20 and the seller gets £30.
