I'm looking for some new boots which I need for mainly fishing but would also like to use them for dog walking . So a mixture of bankside walking but also good for on tarmac / concrete etc . I have been thinking of muckmasters or the new fortis elements boots . Can anyone give me please some honest reviews for both . I thought I'd read somewhere about muckmasters being slippery on concrete etc so if this is correct probably not the boot for me , thanks .

My Spey Muckboots (old version of arctic sports, I think) have a sort of square studded sole, brilliant in mud etc but pretty dodgy on wet tarmac. Wife had a pair with a ribbed sole, these were ok on hard ground but not very good in mud. So it probably depends on the sole on the ones you fancy. If you want them primarily for walking you might be better going for a pair of Le Chameau or Aigles.

I had a few pairs of Muck boots, they are ok but I found they didn't last or wear well, the sole wears off them reasonably quickly and they're prone to cracking at the back of the heel. I looked to upgrade and asked the lads on the shoot what they recommended, nearly all of them are wearing Aigle ISO parcours 2 and moved on from Le Chameau as they aren't the same quality these days. I know £150 is an awful lot of money on a pair of wellies but if what I'm told is correct they'll take a hard 5 to 10 year beating as most of the lads live in there's and that to me is fantastic value, they are ridiculously comfortable, you can walk miles in them no problem! I've had mine two seasons shooting & fishing and they look like new!

Just trialing some Bekina steplite X ,only been out with dog ,but some pretty rough terrain ,mud ,ice, forrestry tracks deeply rutted , so far impressed ,brilliant grip ,warm ,light weight and so far comfortable to walk in! These get rave reviews in the agricultural world ,farmers want performance ,at a reasonable price ,names and looking trendy are not on their list .Paid £50 and like ive said impressed so far,ive had £200 chameaus ,muckboots,hunters ,and managed to destroy them all !

. . .have just test driven the Grubs across a couple of meadows on a local river stretch.
First impressions, heavier than expected out of the box (the vibram sole adds weight) but easier to walk in than any other welly I've worn previously. The moss green is way darker than on the website pics and is a nice dark moss . . .
Calf straps a little redundant as I've got normal size legs but the boots fit nicely around softshell trousers and is grippy around the ankle. Soft and flexible so you can bend down / squat without pinching / effort etc.
Warm (with Bridgedale socks on) and good grip . . .I'm a size 11.5 so went for 12s but may have got away with 11s if I'd tried them on in a shop - haven't used them for actual static fishing yet but they're rated to -20 so I'm hoping they stay cosy - happy with purchase so far - may buy a barbour / tweed jacket to go with the new country boy look . . .

Had my Tay sports muckboots around 5 or 6 years and love them they are ridiculously comfy and lightweight and I can step in to them to get on.My misses also has some and also loves them she uses them for walking miles with the dogs

I've recently bought some Grubs Snowline 8.5 and they are really comfy and my feet stay nice and warm. Highly recommended

Hello, comfort is when the shoes are not only beautiful but also comfortable. My favorite shoes are the Rock Rooster. They like the fact that they do not wear out quickly. Also, they have a lot of advantages, in the first padding, taking into account the foot's anatomy. Secondly - the sole was flexible and lightweight, so the foot muscles had an opportunity to "work" when moving. I have been wearing them for two years, and they are still in good condition.

I've got a pair of Fencham Armot, I bought them when they had a Christmas sale on.
There a good boot all I'd say is the top of the boots are really baggy around your calf.

Well my muckboots were too tight round the top I had to cut 5 inches off I got big calf muscles 18.5 inches and poxy Muckboots were 17.5 inches Fencham /Sabre tackle boots are much better for me
