Hi guys,
I've got 3 x Daiwa AKN 13H 3lb Amorphous rods that i'm thinking of selling.
I've owned 2 for the last 29 years and the other i brought about 3 years ago, all are in very good condition.
Before i listed them i was looking for some advise on what a fair price would be for them?

I've very recently bought two pairs of AKN 12H. I paid £200 for one pair which were mint custom built ones which have seen almost no use and I paid £105 for a pair of Trevs built ones which were in excellent condition. I think £300 for yours sounds reasonable but you might find someone that's after a set and be willing to pay more, especially if the condition is really good. Lovely rods👍

Think the 13ft rods are harder to come by than 12ft as I can't remember the last time I saw a set of three come up and assumed akn meant they are factory built.

No AKN stands for Amorphous Kevin Nash mate apparently so the story goes he went to Diawa and said I dont care what they cost !
I just want a rod to do this and gave them the brief thats why at the time they were the most expensive carp rods ever made by a country mile
I have 4 x AKN 12H 2.75 and a blank in case I ever broke one just amazing rods
few years ago the legend Terry Edmonds had a chuck with one of mine
he at that point had never seen one and was reluctant to give it the biggun due to the age of the rod but he said I will just give it a good go but not full belt it was a terrible day with a 60mph cross wind he chucked it 184 yards and it had a huge bow due to the cross winds he was impressed and said it would do 200 on a normal day no trouble amazing tip recovery
mind you our Tel could probably do 200 with a bamboo cane

I sold a set of those exact rods on eBay 4 years ago and got £300 for them. Mind you someone messaged me after the auction ended and said they'd be prepared to pay substantially more if the buyer drops out. Unfortunately they didn't so I was committed to the £300 bid.

How does the the AKN compare with your NG's OG? Are they more of a distance rod? In what type of scenario would you favour one over the other? Cheers

yes the AKNs I use any time I need to cast over 90 yards and despite the casting ability's they are a very very good playing rod close in under the tip too even in todays world they remain amongst the top end rods IMHO
I dont do much carp fishing these days as I have got into Barbel fishing but Im sure I will be going over my club lake in the summer and they will get some use on the large lake

Exactly amorphous Kevin nash so assumed these would be just that, built as per and not a custom like trevs. Had three blanks myself which were a gift from a rod builder which I kept for over fifteen years and only sold when made an offer I would have been mad to refuse.

I remember saving up for ages for mine, I got three AKNs and 3 SS3000 ,... think I paid 279 for the rods and 299 for the reels. Does that sound about right? It's been a while.
Excuse my ignorance, but what does the H stand for in 12H and 13H?

I believe it stands for horizon
I bought 3 off ebay a short while ago for arund 340 and have since rebuilt them with full duplons and a 50mm mnima ring set
