Hi all. As per title.. Any user reviews on the smaller 45 & 55 Riot S reels? Want 1 for a 9ft setup. TIA

I had the riots and thought they were terrible.
They felt cheap and nasty and the clutch was incredibly juddery so, I went back to Daiwa 2600's and a lot of folk dislike them however, apart from there obvious foibles such as being old technology etc, they feel quality in the hand and balance my 9ft ESP Stalkers 2.75 TC well.
It may pay you to handle a few reels including the Daiwa GS 3000 or 4000 and compare however, that is likely to be difficult given the present situation.
Wychwood Rods and beds and shelters etc all seem to be very good to me however, their reels left a lot to be desired.

Had alot of wychwood tackle to test up unto 2010 and all the reels were utter rubbish , they may have improved since but i would give them a wide berth.

I've got 3 riot 65s and I love them - too big for a stalking rod but no issues with the clutch etc.
However, I've not tried reels that are probably much better so I accept I may be in the minority!

Unless they've improved I'd agree. Fragile Junk. I had one literally distintigrate on Rockford in 2008. Fell apart whilst winding it. Avoid like the plague.

Had 3 wychwood riots, only 1 survived after about 3 months of use. If i remember correctly, one of them completely locked up and I have a feeling the other was on it's way to doing the same.

Cheers for the replies 👍. Already have a pair of Dispatch models for spod and marker work. Havent died on me yet. Also looked at Okumas.. Think it was the CF6000 that caught my eye.. Unsure how big their idea of a 6000 reel is compared to something like a Shimano 5500!
