I'm looking to buy a set of rods but with the money I'm going to spend on them they need to be the right one. The advice is so torn there's no way to decided unless I can try them.

Anyone know of a rod builder that would let me test a few rods? Trebuchet lite, aviator plus and Hi s ive in 13ft are the 3 contenders. When I say test I just need a couple hours with one of each to have a cast with and simulate landing a fish with as best I can

I believe Cotswold rods will let you try before you buy. Maybe a bit of a trek for you as I see your based in Essex.

I could be wrong but all might not be lost as Danny turtle x Gigantica head bailiff is an Agent for them and hes Essex based. Might be worth giving them a call.

If you're in Essex, see if you could have cast with Terry Edmonds on one of his days where he's practicing casting. I'm sure he'll have some Harrison rods for you to try out?

You wont find many rod builders that have spare sets these days , the margins are so small now all rod builders i know just get blanks in as they need them and getting blanks is now taking 8 weeks for me rather than the used to be 10 days !
