Well lads this is not a question I thought I would ever ask but here goes
I'm going to fish two venues this year where a bait boat will come in handy and having never used one at all I could do with some advice on makes and models. I really only need a bait to hold 2/3 kg of bait and a system which tells me how deep and what is on the bottom. What companies or boats should I be looking at? Remember I'm a complete novice on bait boats 😂

If you don't mind importing maybe look at the Camodev 360. After sales support on these are like Delkim I believe.

I don't really have a budget
I don't want a cheap useless one but I'm not spending 2 grand either! I know someone with a gowi for 1400quid And that has everything built in

I use the Lake reaper with a Deeper chirp attached to the back , didn't cost me the earth and both have never let me down. Sits on the barrow nice and compact and really easy to use. I only fish up to a maximum of 100 yds and the hopper holds around 1.5kg of bait.

I also use a Deeper Chirp attached to my bait boat. Using a DC instead of a built in feature finder has it's benefits, such as being able to use it on a rod or in a dingy, not just with the bait boat, it also means you can sell one or the other if you want. The downside to the DC is range and your bait boat can sometimes interfere with the signal, in my case by interfering with line of sight. You can increase the range of the DC to over 200m by using a paired router and external 9-12v supply, this is on the forum HERE

Using a Deeper Chirp means you have the freedom to chose any bait boat you want.
