What are you guys using as a shock leader? Are you buying purpose made leader material, or cheap 50lb braid from eBay?

Personally I have used Whiplash Braid, where allowed.
General Shockerleader rule is: 10LB per 1oz of weight used.

Always buy the most reliable, strong stuff for leaders, cracking off using the cheap stuff could injure yourself or potential kill someone on the end of a crack off.

Also some of the Nylon tapered main line/shockleader combo's are quite good

I use esp tapered shock leaders when fishing at range with my distance set up, 15lb through to 35lb /40lb from memory, decent enough and available in clear or green... Strong and reliable...

Whats the leader for? Marker, spod or fishing rod? Different leaders for different jobs.

I appreciate there are leaders for specific jobs, however I was talking in general. Both spodding and fishing at range. I know lots of you use cheap eBay braid for spodding, so wondered if you used the same for leaders.

I use the Korda tapered leaders - 40lb-12lb for general fishing, spodding or markering use 40lb braid straight through.
