Loads to choose from in all price ranges. Buy cheap and have a bit of fun. One word of advice, DON'T take your carp gear anywhere near a beach, salt eats gear.

Depends what sort of ground they are fishing, second hand is way to go I recon though.

I have to tell you lol
back in the 80s I had a little break from carping and about that time Sea Angler were running casting lesson around the country to learn how to pendulum cast I went to a park in greenford and after about 5 weeks I was pretty good spent a friggin fortune on some top beach casting gear and regularly drove down to langney point and fished all the big night tides though out that winter I had an arrangement with Tonys tackle he would leave £10 worth of black lug in a packet in his dustbin at the side of the shop and I would post an envelope with a tenner in thu the letterbox
I had some successes a few cod but nothing major and in the January a new neighbour moved in next door he had a Wilson Flyer dory and told me he was mad on sea fishing couple of weeks later there was a knock on the door it was Dave from next door can you fillet fish gerry ? yes I can .........well I have caught loads of cod if you help me fillet them you can have a few
WELL !!! I walked into his kitchen and he had more cod than I had caught all year around 20 odd Cod all 12 to 18lb and said his mate that went with had the same as they went half each a week later I had sold my beach casting gear and bought my first boat a Barry Bass boat with a 10hp Honda

Tonys tackle and Langney point that brings back memories used to fish there in the early 80s too. Nice bloke Tony. I never did catch the big bass I was after though. Good times.

Oddly enough, I am myself after a couple of new beach rods to replace my old Penn rods I have had for 20 years. I was hoping to get a couple in the Black Friday sales, but rather remarkably, the rods I am after, have gone up from £119 to £130 and now £130+ to 150+ in about the past two or three weeks.
So it looks like if they do come on offer in the sales, I will still be paying what I would have done before, so maybe around now is definitley not the right time to hope for a bargain if you have being doing your homework otherwise you could be conned into paying full whack thinking you have a 20% off bargain.

If you live by the coast cash converter places often have a few bits of sea fishing gear. Picked up a couple of decent reels popping in over the years.

A second hand daiwa will be a good buy also Leeda do decent beachcasters for a good price, I won't spend a lot of money on a beach caster as it's probably the rod that has the hardest life they get battered from landing on the rocks or when the tripod goes over etc also doesn't matter how good it is or how far it can cast
When there's a 30mph onshore wind and you are putting half a mackerel out it doesn't make much difference.
Depending on the ground you fish if it's mostly clean sandy beaches a bass rod could suit you better.

Barry bass boat brings back good memories great boats as good as an Orkney longliner for sea keeping wasn't many of them about. We used to fish up to 10 miles out regularly and never felt unsafe even when the weather turned 😎👍🏻

yes agreed got caught out in a big storm but got us back safely had a few boats but liked this Commercial Fastliner 19ft 65hp commercial Johnson and was my fav this is 18 miles off and the flattest I have ever seen the sea
GPS said I was doing 29 knots just could not get the 30 lol we went out in 2 boats for safety my mate took the pic

Great pic and a nice boat that fastliner 👌🏻bet that was lively with a 65 on it 😅 I had a strikeliner for a few years wish I kept it. problem with going fast on a flat sea is it feels like your not doesn't it 😄

I renamed it from Warrior when I bought it lol spose to be bad luck but it wasnt
funniest thing was when I went to register it in Brighton Marina for my berth the snotty cow said well I think thats a disgusting name for a craft !!!
I looked and she had written Flying Semen
I smiled at her and said I think its your mind dear you have spelt it wrong its Seamen like for instance Flying Dutchmen she went as red as a beetroot
