Hi I have just picked up a spare set of bite alarms for my canal/river set up wychwood solace but they dont have any batteries in them and no information what batteries in need can anyone help thanks

Think they are LR1. Had the solace for a short period years ago and the battery type was one of my frustrations as weren't easy to get hold of

The alarms go through batteries rapidly so keep a supply....
One of the reasons why I got rid of them, just too unreliable.

I remember reading you should remove the batteries when not using them because of that problem

Yep. A number of times I got the alarms out to find they were dead even though a new battery had been put in the time before. Jerry's suggestion would help avoid that but due to them being so small it was always fiddly either sorting the batteries out or pairing etc. As a free set as backup as long as you keep a good supply of the batteries they should be fine

I will only be using them few times a year when I go away on a narrow boat holiday so it eont be to much of a ball ache. Just need to find some has anyone got instructions on how to pair up to receiver

Take the cover off and there are little switches inside. You need to match those on the alarms to the receiver. Again it is very fiddly to do and I had to use something like a cocktail stick or fine baiting needle to do this

That's ok wifes happy they fit a clock she has so she has batteries for the next 4 years lol
