With the unlikelihood of getting on a syndicate on the Cotswold water park in the near future, I am looking at joining either South Cerney or Ashton Keynes in the near future. There is plenty of talk online about how busy & rowdy the waters can be, not to mention talk of regular theft. Is it really that bad? I keep myself to myself so I'm not too worried about any plonkers, but are there any quieter waters? do any of the lakes have winter form?
I guess I really just want any info you are willing to give, I am used to small & quiet 12 man syndicates, so I know it will be a bit of a shock to the system but having never fished the water park before and not knowing any syndicates with an open waiting list, I'm not left with any other option.

Been fishing on quite a few places in CWP over the years, but as this is a holiday destination for us, we've only fished day ticket waters. That said, some do offer a membership. Fished Horcott a few times, nice lake, pretty remote, they do a membership and also have a syndicate lake next to the large lake, don't know the waiting list situation though. Think the Carp Society also do a membership for Horseshoe @ Lechlade. Both of these are a shortish distance away from CWP, so should be away from the crowds. Also Watermark Fisheries, but I think their waters are smack bang in the middle of the CWP. There must be more, there's loads a lakes down there........

Aspen Lake may have syndicate spaces or a list. The place is hard to find a decent water with spaces, does feel like a closed shop unless you know the right people. Plenty of day ticket options, SCAC does get very busy from what I read on their FB page but some cracking fish to be had. Apart from Wick on the SC ticket, the carp fishing canbe tough. Wick is popular largely because of the stock. So depends what your after. Horseshoe is also a good shout.

Wick/Franklin's is the busiest SCAC lake, I've never fished it (nor would I) but have walked around it and often drive past it. It's always busy.
Their other waters are also very busy but not quite as bad. What they all have in common is a serious lack of angling etiquette between members. That's just the nature of busy clubs I guess.
AKAC has quieter, lowER stock waters that come with their own problems but the club are not accepting new members.
Embryo have bought a lake which will be open to members at some point. No idea when though. This might be your best bet of a syndicate.
My advice would be to try to make friends with locals, you'll start hearing about bits and bobs here and there.

That largely falls in line with what I've heard, that's a shame about Ashton Keynes, quite fancied the look of cokes pit.
This season I've only managed a handful of fish, so low stock doesn't bother me if the rewards are there.
I had a look at aspen, not sure it's my cup of tea to be honest but it may be a case of needs must to start with. That said I'll probably get a scac ticket and see how bad it is, it's a cheap enough ticket to chance my luck, if it doesn't work out I've not lost much.

Bradleys? doesn't float everyone's boat though.
Lad I know has done a few seasons on there and is getting amongst the fish just last month managed a 19,25,27,29,32,35,36 and a 41 for 3 nights fishing good stamp of fish for the money I'd say.

Akac didn't put out tickets this year, but next year should be back to normal.
