Ordering some scopes after giving my Powermesh to my father.

Question is what test curve? I have seen 3.5lb is common, but seems very heavy for the size of rod? Will be 10ft ones

I was considering neither 3lb or 3.25lb.

I don't really fish at massive range, but do use pva bags a lot.

Go for 3.25Lb

What range, what weight will you be casting, target fish size, open water order snag ridden, all need to be taken into consideration.

I have 2 x 3lb and 1 x 3.5 lb 10ft scopes. I can cast 100yards regular with rigs with the 3lb. The 3.5lb I use for solid bags at that distance. Tbf the scopes I use on smaller waters, has I max out at 110 on a good day.
Fishing bigger waters more and more now, so will be getting some longer rods at some point.
Will keep the 10's for the smaller waters though.

Not massive distance but I do a lot of snag fishing, and very weedy waters in summer. Weights are 20's and early 30's

Thinking 3.5lb on reading given snags and large pva bags

In fish playing you will hardly notice any difference between the 3.00Lb and the 3.25Lb, the difference in fish playing between a 3.25Lb and 3.50 is noticeable

With the 3.25 you always have some extra power to throw further if necessary or for pva bags,i would only go for the 3.50 if you fish a lot over 90 Yards.

I use the 3.5 stepped up after initially buying the 3.25
Just gives you a bit more ‘scope' 👍🏻
