Can anyone recommend a lightweight jacket (with hood) and trousers... don't want to break the bank but do want them to actually be waterproof, Cheers guys!

Hi mate, for my money you cant beat some of the army surplus gear, i have a goretex dpm rain jacket which i got off ebay for £25. Been out in it alot this week and dry as a bone and also very breathable. You would pay a lot more for something branded with similar properties, Cant help with trousers but would imagine they woyld be just as good as all their gear is fit for for purpose.

Take a look at the thread korda or aqua in the tackle section,carpy09 recommends some for around £40 for jacket and trousers.They might be worth a look

I recently purchased some vass lightweight combo set which looks good. Not tried it yet but looks decent. Small, compact and comes in it own carry bag.

If you look on hollandscountryclothing they do some bib and brace waterproof trousers by castle too for just under £20.They look really good quality for the price

when I worked we were issued with some waterproofs that were made by that company some of the best waterproofs I have ever used very breathable too and a kind of stretchy material brilliant

Just bought theses , excellent reviews , i can vouch for them being warm , i need to give em a good outing in the rain but they are sold as 100 % waterproof , maybe not the cammo colour people are looking for though , i don't give a monkeys !

Vass do a set of waterproofs that can be rolled up and stored.... ive had a set for a few years and they have been great.
