Hello. I have spent the past few weeks weighing up options and getting other peoples views and angles on reel options for my 9ft Sonik Xtractors.
The waters I fish are by no means huge so am happy with my rod choice.
I'm just trying to figure out whether the Daiwa GS 4000 ltd would work better than the Whisker SS2600's ?

Any opinions from anglers who have had experience using these reels would be much appreciated, as I've never used either.

I have x tractor 9ft 2.75 with daiwa gs4000... Really good balanced set up, and having used ss2600s before the GS are a much smoother, modern version. Worth getting the SCR drag converters to speed the drag up...

The GS are a 21st century version of a 1980's ss2600.
I like a proper clutch rather than the quick drag set ups most reels come with nowadays As you have more control Of where you set it rather than on or off you might as well just fish using the handle

Get okuma 6000inc from bobco for £40 a piece if they're still doing it. Blinding reels for the money, that's what I have on my xtractors and they match up better than ss2600
