Looking for a new Tablet and wondered what my fellow Carpers recommend?
Would use it for fishing, primarily to watch a few movies or fishing films during the long dark winter hours....not sure where to start though!
Don't want to spend a fortune, couple of hundred at most and I'm an Android user.
Would like to be able to tether my mobile rather than get a tablet with it's own data, (presume that's doable/good idea?) and was thinking I would join Netflix to download a few things to watch offline.
Any suggestions/thoughts appreciated 👍

have a look at the amazon fire hd tablets ,also dont buy tablets just yet see what the black friday deals are in November

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 for the purposes mentioned. Cheap but perfect.

Both Samsung and Fire HD are worth looking at, as mentioned. However, no matter what you consider dont buy one now.
If you are an Amazon Prime member, or know someone who is, Amazon are doing they're "Prime Day Sale" around 13th October. This is a big electronics sale to all prime members and you'll usually see 20% off of tablets.
Failing that, Amazon always jump on the Black Friday sales in the 3rd week of November. You will get money off of tablets in that sale too, usually the same as the prime sale.
Summar: Samsung and Fire HD are worth looking at. I'd try to avoid cheap brands you've never heard of, the Fire is so cheap there really is no reason to buy inferior. Wait for a sale, you will save a very nice %.

Correct me if I'm.wrong here, you're locked into the Amazon store using their tablets and have a limited range of applications as apposed to the play store using something like Samsung's tablets?

You can side load Play Store app's onto the Amazon tab, that said it still comes with the Amazon bloatware and the thing will be reporting back everything you look at to the sect back in the states, it's probably listening to you as well.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 . . .fits perfectly in my Avid Tech Pack (with all the other electronic gizmos / camera / powerpacks) and is great for movies / browsing / deeper sonar etc
I put an anti glare screen on and a decent drop proof case . .

I have the tabA and an iPad
I was staunch Apple advocate but I will never buy an Apple product again lol
Unless they start to use an expandable storage card slot.
