How are people finding these reels debating getting my first Shimano reel after always being a Daiwa man or am I better or staying with Daiwa & my SS3000's ?

The clutch is crazy quick! A few clicks to locked up... a lovely reel, however the clutch seems redundant for playing fish.

I came from using Tournaments to The power Aero. And now I've fitted upgraded spool clickers and carbon washers. I don't think I could go back to tourneys now. It did take some getting used too and gaining confidence in the clutch when playing fish. But I'm made up with them now. Few curses along the way when your spool stops clicking admittedly. For what they cost they should be like this out of the box.
Would I recommend them, yes and no.

Out of interest, which washers did you fit and where from? Same for the clickers which seems pretty variable as supplied. Nice reels otherwise, and so much smoother than an older design reel such as a tournament.

Does the carbon washes etc stop the spool clicking issue ? Or are yours still stopped mate ?

Thing is before this turns into a Shimano v Daiwa one , the quality from both manufacturers has gone down hill on most of their reels in my opinion , since your used to using old SS3000 I'd go for a set of the older Ultegra Ci4 XTB or XSB , much better build quality in my opinion and you definitely won't have any trouble with them , not that the newer versions are rubbish , they just don't seem to match up to the older ones , just my opinion of course

I like my power aeros - all the clickers now gone - no other issues at all - play fish off the clutch no problems.

they will send you replacement ones that are better. Or you can slightly bend the ones in there I am told.
Either way, its only really bothered me once, (in a boat, playing a fish in the dark and was a bit disorientated). no big issue.
Will get new clickers int he future before I sell them tho.
