Anyone used the Fish Spy marker float?
They have dropped in price so much thinking about trying it out. Think would be great to confirm clear spots and see if bait has been eaten etc
Any input would be appreciated. Online reviews are mixed from rave reviews to signalling problems etc

One of the biggest problems with these is dropping out of wifi reception with the tablet.
This can be improved somewhat by using a modified tablet holder that fixes to a bankstick so that the tablet is not moved during reception.
If there are any branches or reeds between the tablet/phone and the marker float.....forget it. It needs line of sight to be of any use at all.
You have to put the float camera into record mode before you submerge the float and stop it again when it surfaces.
You cannot view the submerged footage live...only when the float has surfaced again.....the camera records and stores it then sends a video file to the tablet.
They work best with the extra buoyancy foam fitted and a 3oz plus lead to keep the float as high as possible in the water for better wifi reception.
There is a monochrome (B/W) downloadable add on that is supposed to improve video clarity in murky water.
The camera needs to have something to focus on.....it just records a grey/muddy image in anything except crystal clear water until it gets down to within a couple of feet of the lake bed.
I bought a discounted one when they first came out...
If this sounds like they are a right white elephant....you would not be mistaken.
Would I buy one today at the sub £60 they now sell for...?

Even with all its down sides I have been using one attached on a baiting pole so I can see where I am dropping my rig in margin spots. At this short range I don't have an issue of the signal dropping out.
It was aright pain to set up from memory and really is only any good on waters where there is very good water clarity. Also found that it struggles in any water over 18 foot as there is not enough light.
When watching the videos back its a bit clunky and I have found the app has a tendency to crash if trying to skip through, you also you need to watch it back on a large screen.
